Big Girl's Bed

This morning Daisy climbed out of her cot for the first time. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkk!

Then she did it again when she woke up from a morning nap, and again when she had some time out for being a little bugger and throwing every piece of her tea set off her window sill in a spectacular terrible twos style temper tantrum. The latter incident resulted in a fat lip.

So I decided that today would be the day that the cot bars would come off and Daisy's baby bed would become a big girl's bed.... I always wanted to wait until it was absolutely necessary to change it over and figured that a fat lip from a three foot drop was reason enough. I didn't fancy a repeat of that in the middle of the night.

Himself made the transformation whilst madam and I were out. When we got back Daisy thought all her Christmases had come at once.

"Miiiine beddddddd!"

She sat in it reading books for 45 minutes while I cooked dinner and had to be blackmailed with chocolate to get out at all. Surely bedtime wouldn't be as easy?

Well as I write this we have just had our first roll out of bed.... which Daisy slept through. I just had to scoop her up off of the pillows and duvets I'd padded the floor with and put her back on the bed.

Getting her to go to sleep was no different than usual, save for a five minute episode where she stood at the new stair gate at her bedroom door shouting "MORE BOOKS PLEASE MUMMY!"

Fingers crossed we all sleep well tonight.... xox

  1. Her big girls bed looks gorgeous! No wonder she didn't want to get out. At least she slept through her tumble out of bed, my Livi still does that, and I still go pounding up the stairs in a panic to find her fast asleep still on the floor! Have a good week, Nat
