The A to Z of Me

I do love a good Meme, and this one is awesome - thanks to Mari from Mari's World for tagging me! If you'd like to be tagged leave a comment in the box below...

ANORAK…Do you have a sad side?
Ohhhhh yessss. I have many sad sides. I'm a pensioner trapped in the body of a 31 year old. My love of pottery (Emma Bridgewater in particular) has my friends in stitches. I also studied for an MA in Archaeology and specialised in osteoarchaeology. Geeky enough for you?
BODY…What physical attribute would you most like to change?
My mummy tummy. I've never had a six pack but things have definitely deteriorated since the birth of my little madam. My four stone three pound bump left me with more than a few stretch marks, which I will never complain about because they gave me my daughter, but I could definitely do with a bit of toning up in the stomach department.

CELEBRITY…Which one would you most like to date and why?
Gary Barlow. 'Nuff said.

DEBUT …Tell us about your first ever blog post. What made you start blogging?
I've just celebrated my first blogiversary! You can read my first ever blog post here. I just wanted to introduce myself, and set the scene for the blog posts to come. I initially planned to write a personal blog for family and friends to read but then decided to keep it public and blog about my local area and my love of food. I'm still working on it.

ERROR …What’s been your biggest regret?
My biggest regret is selling my first ever car. It was a bright red B-reg Renault 4, with slidy windows and a column exchange gearstick on the dashboard. I loved that car but when it failed its MOT and needed heaps of work done to it I decided to sell it. A few months later I took out a loan to buy a brand new Ford KA. I wish I'd borrowed money to make my Renault roadworthy instead..... *goes misty eyed*

FUNNY – who’s making you laugh?
My daughter is guaranteed to put a smile on my face. Today she had a FULL ON temper tantrum because I wouldn't let her have 'eye pee' (ice cream) for breakfast. I had to hide my giggles.

GRAND…If we gave you one right now what would you spend it on?
Loads of birthday and Christmassy stuff for Daisy Moo and a new pair of Ray Ban clubmasters and a rose gold Michael Kors watch for me!

HOLIDAY… What’s your favourite destination?
Italy. Any part. I love the people, the food, the wine, the language. In fact I might spend that grand on a holiday over there....

IRRITATE… What’s your most annoying habit?
I have a very strange OCD thingumyjig where pairs of shoes have to be together and touching, with the shoe laces tucked in. All my friends think I'm mental. I have to sneak round their houses making sure the shoes are all neat.

JOKER…Whats your favourite joke {the one that makes you laugh everytime you hear it}?
God I don't know! I don't think I've heard a joke in years! Anyone got one they want to share?!

KENNEL… Do you have any pets?
I have a cat called Poggio and a dog called Percival.

LOVE…Are you single, married, engaged, living with a long term partner?
I'm very newly single. Something I've not blogged about yet. I might talk about it soon.

MEAL… Whats your ultimate starter, main and dessert?
Are you ready for this? This could take a while.... I am very specific when it comes to food. Right. To start I would have to go for very simple parma ham and melon. God  I'm drooling just thinking about it. For my main I would probably choose a great big, fat, fillet steak. I like it very pink and a bit bloody. 'Rip its horns off and wipe it's arse' as my Dad would say! Served with a dollop of garlic butter, mustard mash, grilled portobello mushrooms and wilted spinach. Oh my. For pudding I would go with profiteroles and then I would HAVE to have a cheese course. A big slab of Norbury Blue, some very very very ripe French brie, some Montgomery's cheddar and some Oxford Isis. Served without any chutneys but with lots of crackers.

NOW…If you could be anywhere right now where would you be and who with?
I would be by the sea, with my friends and family, drinking wine and listening to the waves.

OFF DUTY…What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time?! What spare time!

PROUD MOMENTS …What are you most proud of?
I'm so proud of my daughter. She is just amazing in every possible way. She is so kind and thoughtful and funny and adorable. And I made her! So I am pretty proud of myself for that!

QUEASY …What turns your stomach?
Raisins. I can bearly write the word, let alone think of the horrible little shrivelled up manky pieces of dried fruit. Urgh.
RELAX…How do you relax?
Ohhhh I might be partial to a glass of wine or two. And I love bubble baths. Being by the sea relaxes me, no matter what I'm doing. As soon as I see the coast my shoulders drop and I start breathing deeper and slower. I just love it.

SONG…Whats your favourite song of all time?
This is impossible to answer, I am a music whore. I love so many songs and I am guilty of finding a song I love and playing it on repeat until I never want to listen to it again. A few albums that I've not got tired of yet are 'Sigh No More' by Mumford & Sons, both Adele albums, 'The Bends' by Radiohead. I've just bought the new James Morrison and Ed Sheeran albums too and I've been playing them both recently.

TIME …If you could go back in time and relive it again, when would you choose?
1996. It was such a fantastic year. I went to so many festivals and gigs and I was young and carefree and had money to spend on whatever I wanted! I always look back on that year very fondly.

UNKNOWN…Tell us something about yourself that no one else knows?
It's not a very interesting one but no one really knows that I won a music scholarship to my secondary school. I can play the piano, flute, guitar, violin and harp. And I gave a few other instruments a go too.

VOCAL…. Who is your favourite artist?
See 'song' above. Too many to mention.
WORK….. What is your dream job, and are you doing it now?
I would love to have my own cafe/bar/restaurant. Somewhere really relaxed and low key where people can come for coffee, wine, nibbles or full on meals (everything locally sourced and delicious). It would have to be by the sea OF COURSE! ..... One day .....

XRAY…Any broken bones?
Touch wood - no!

YIKES…What’s been your most embarrassing moment?
Daisy flashing my boobs to about thirty people in Sainsbury's. I literally wanted the ground to swallow me up. A man actually came up to me and said 'I didn't see anything, honest'. Yeah right.

ZOO…. If you were an animal, which one would you be?
Does it have to be a zoo animal? I would love to be a horse. But a wild one from Mongolia or Exmoor or Dartmoor. Or maybe a cat. In fact I would love to be Pogg, she just eats and sleeps. That would be heaven!

  1. Hey...great post. Sorry to hear about you-know-what. If I lived in London, we'd defo be bezzy mates...I play the harp and have a degree in Biblical archeology, and 1996 was a top-notch year (I met Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam)...apart from the raisin thing...that would be why we would eventually loose touch! No need to tag me in this. Just wanted to give *hugs* xx

  2. Love the post and the pic of you and your little girl. :-)
