Wedding Planning: 6 months to go!

In case you missed it, I'M GETTING MARRIED!

Yep, five long years and two gorgeous daughters later, Himself finally decided to make an honest woman of me.

This week has been a pretty big one as far as wedding planning goes as we have set the date and booked the church and reception venue. Eeeeeekk! We've opted for a traditional church wedding with our reception at our local indie cinema and we're both very excited!

So what's next? We've only got six months before the big day so I'm guessing we'd better get a wriggle on. We've made a start on our guest list and I've started designing our invitations but what else needs doing now? This is definitely going to be a budget / DIY wedding so I've been pinning like crazy (check out my wedding board here!) I have so many ideas I'd like to incorporate but what order should I do things in? All the lists I've found online give you a 12 or 18 month plan ---- I need to condense it all into 6! Can anyone help?! All advice and suggestions welcome xoxox

    1. Tell me EVERYTHING! Haha. I literally have no idea where to start!? I presume once we have had our RSVPs back we can start to arrange catering etc? And then I leave the table decorations etc til the end?! If you could direct me to a brilliant 6 month checklist thingy that would be FAB! x

  4. Congrats & don't stress just get booking!!
I did mine in 3 weeks with a 14 week old. you obv have a good idea if what you want (good old pintrest) so decide what u cannot do without and go from there. once you have settled on your stationary you'll be golden as u will know what theme/direction to go in.
    And....you have the dress, right?

    1. WOW! 3 weeks and with a baby!! Good work :) Nope, no dress yet, although I do know what style I'm after! I just found out today that most wedding dress shops charge you extra when the wedding is less than 6 months away... what a total rip off! Hopefully I'll be able to buy one off the peg x

  6. I would order your flowers (we used wiggly wigglers for my flowers, and bough 20 boxes of cut flowers and made the bridesmaids posie, flower girl wand and table displays ourselves all for under £200 and I really wanted British flowers) cake (we had a 'cheese tower'!) and start provisionally looking at caterers and book them with an estimate of how many you've invited (or how many you expect to make it) Also, photographer (or a friend who's a photographer, like we did) Book your hairdresser and make up artists (and your trial run a week before) Tell your bridesmaids what kind of hen you'd like and leave them to it....and start trying on dresses NOW (best bit!) 8. Wow! I don't think i can plan a wedding by myself for only 6 months. It would drive me insane and i have to congratulate you for that! I think you are doing a great job with the planning. I'm not in the position to say don't stress yourself, but yes, don't keep stressing and just enjoy the whole thing!
