Juicing Extras: Aloe Vera and Bee Pollen

Recently I have started adding two natural supplements to my juices. Bee pollen and aloe vera.

Although juicing is a majorly efficicent way of flooding the body with goodness, by adding a tiny amount of either (or both!) of these you are boosting your intake of vitamins and minerals even more, which can only be a good thing, right!

Bee Pollen is a SUPER superfood and nutritionists consider it to be the most complete natural food on the planet. It is high protein and contains all essential amino acids, as well as being packed full of vitamins, minerals and natural lecithin. By including it in your diet, you can expect increased muscle growth, better skin, a healthy and a well functioning immune system and - the main reason for my taking it - lots more energy. If taken as a preventative all year round, local bee pollen can also help reduce hay fever symptoms.

Aloe Vera has similar effects. Aside from being amazing for the skin (it nourishes skin cells and helps in the production of natural collagen, making skin look fresh and youthful) it is also very, very good for the digestive system. It assists with healthy digestion, helps maintain healthy joints and soothes muscles, balances the immune system and, like bee pollen, is packed full of a ridiculous amount of minerals and vitamins too (including calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, folic acid and vitamins A, B, C and E).

So if you are contemplating some juicing extras, these are two I would recommend. Both are available online and from good health food shops. xoxox
