Modern Mummy Loves ....

This week I have been:

Cooking, cooking and more cooking! ♥ Getting crafty with the girls and making lots of cards and pictures Drinking Cool & the Wise cocktails at Ales & Tails in Twickenham Joining in with the Official UK launch of Pinterest with their #PinItForwardUK Campaign ♥ Drooling over the me&I Summer clothes for grown ups ♥ Receiving my first Abel & Cole fruit & veg box (and LOVING it!) ♥ Ordering our wedding invitations!

I've also got three fabulous new finds to share with you this week!

Weleda Skin Food
Skin Food 75ml

After the Weleda natural hay fever relief saved my life when I was pregnant last Summer, I might have guessed that their skin products would be amazing too. This super nourishing and hydrating cream replenishes and repairs dry patches of skin and is suitable for the whole body (I have been using it on my face). It is made with organic sunflower seed oil and extracts of wild pansy, chamomile, calendula and revitalising rosemary and is delicately fragranced with sweet orange and lavandulae essential oils. It makes a great rescue remedy for lack-lustre skin (particularly after sleepless nights!) and can be used as a protective cream when you are regularly outdoors. RRP £9 and available from all good health shops!

The Abel & Cole Veg Box Companion
Available direct from Abel & Cole here for £12.99.

If, like me, you hate food waste then you HAVE to buy this book. End of. I would describe this book as the Veg Box buyer's Bible; it contains snippets of information on whats in season and when, tells you all about composting and foraging and has heaps of ideas of what to make with the lesser well known vegetables you might receive in your weekly box. It is divided up into seasons and Keith Abel wrote it to stop cooking feeling like a chore for his customers.

In his words 'I get phone calls all the time from my friend Suzie saying, 'Keith, what on earth am I supposed to do with this weird vegetable you've sent me?!?'. People get into the routine of peas and potatoes but explode with excitement when they work out what to do with a new vegetable!..... Be bold! Break away from broccoli. Saute that salsify with self assurance. Just keep it simple.'

And that's exactly what makes this book so great! It really is simple! By adding just a few store cupboard ingredients to a vegetable, you can whip up something amazing. How about cauliflower cous cous? Or 15 minute marmalade? Sounds good, huh? There are plenty more ideas where they came from.

On top of all of that, this book is also beautiful. And you all know what a sucker I am for a beautiful recipe book.

If you buy one cook book this month, make it this one. You won't be disappointed.

Tea India

The lovely people at Tea India sent me some samples of their delicious, premium tea this week and I am now hooked! In the range are three authentic Chais (vanilla, masala and cardamom) and a black tea blend - all of which are award winning, created using the finest ingredients and with more than 70 years blending experience. I have been drinking the Vanilla Chai and the Black Tea this week and they are both divine - packed with flavour - something really different and uplifting for when you hit that mid afternoon slump!

The best bit (after the taste, of course) is that all Tea India blends are ethically sourced - and they are available at all good shops at an RRP of £2.59 for the Black Tea and £2.39 for the Chai blends. Definitely give them a go if you are a fan of herbal and fruit teas.

Tea India has recently launched a Facebook promotion, 'You & I and a Cup of Chai' where it is offering some of it's fans a free selection of the finest Tea India blends to share with friends and family. Click here to find out more!
