I'm Getting Married!

At last I can finally say it: I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS MONTH! In less than four weeks in fact. Eeeeep!

Claudia Rose Carter (taken at our pre-wedding shoot on the South Bank).

I'm so excited about our big day, and not just because I'm finally marrying that handsome devil you lot know at Himself after more than five blissful (ahem) years together. Our friends and family are all playing a huge part in the festivities and that means we all get to spend heaps of time together during the final countdown and I can't wait. The whole shebang is going to be a massive labour of love, with everyone mucking in (and hopefully having a ball in the process!), and that makes me so happy! In my opinion, that's what weddings are all about. Family and friends and LOVE.

I decided a while back that I'd take a break from blogging, so that in the last few weeks leading up to our special day I could totally devote myself to whatever needs doing. I'm a text book DIY bride and have been/will be making everything myself - from wall hangings to cocktail decorations to flower arrangements.

But Modern Mummy isn't going to disappear into the blogging black hole, oh no. Far from it in fact! Over the next 26 days I will be publishing guest posts from fellow bloggers and lovely readers, who will each be sharing their own beautiful wedding stories. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading these posts as I've received them, and I really hope you do too.

Normal service will resume once we're back from our Familymoon in October - and you'll be subjected to a whole host of Wedding DIY posts that I've been gagging to share with you over the past few months but couldn't as I didn't want to give any details of our wedding away! It goes without saying that there will be a photo post dedicated to our wedding day too.

There will also be a few changes to the layout of the blog which I'm super excited about. Now that my life is changing, I think it's time for the blog to evolve a bit too.

So please don't do a runner on me! Stay tuned and enjoy this month of real life love stories and I'll be back before you know it. xoxox
