Lamaze Freddie the Firefly Toy & Cup Review

Whilst on the topic of Christmas shopping, we were sent some adorable Lamaze products for review during my month off which would make brilliant stocking fillers or small gifts for friends and family.

We are huge Lamaze fans and already own a large number of their toys including My Friend Emily and Dee Dee Dragon (bought with our very own hard earned cash, I hasten to add). So when their PR people offered to send us a Freddie the Firefly toy, complete with matching sippy cup, we said yes please straight away.

The main reason why we love this collection of Lamaze toys so much is because they are excellently made, last forever (Daisy's old toys are still going strong!), they are suitable from birth and are a fantastic way to introduce babies to colours, textures and patterns. But they aren't just super cute toys! They also stimulate sensory development, encourage hand-eye co-ordination and strengthen hands and muscles through play.

Freddie the Firefly is actually one of my favourites out of all the characters (and Evie's too!). He has a bright, rainbow coloured body and wings, and lots of sounds and textures to keep your little one entertained. He also has a built in teether and a clip which enables you to attach him to virtually anything, so that he can't go missing. (Our Freddie has been permanently attached to our pram since we got him!)

He retails at around £12.99 and is available from all good baby and toy shops!

The sippy cup is another new favourite item in our household. You may have seen my tweets over the past few months as I've struggled to find a cup that Evie can drink from. I've spent a small fortune on different brands but the spouts have either been free flowing (resulting in lots of wet clothes and other spillages!) or she's been unable to suck water from them properly. This genuinely is the first cup that has been a success!

Made for babies aged 6 months +, this non spill, BPA free cup can hold 7oz of water or milk - which is the perfect amount for Evie at 11 months. It is super lightweight and has two handles so she can lift it herself no problem and the spout is soft, which makes the transition from bottle to cup that little bit easier. It is also super easy to clean (there are no weird rubber valvey bits to fiddle around with inside the spout) and dishwasher friendly if you are lucky enough to have one. Plus, of course, it is decorated with a picture of our new BFF Freddie the Firefly!

These cups come in a range of designs and are priced at around £3.99.

We would happily recommend any product from the Lamaze ranges to any parent. They have been a part of our lives for almost four years now and we couldn't live without them!

DISCLAIMER: We were sent a Freddie the Firefly toy and cup for the purpose of this review.
