Nutmeg SS14 Preview

Today Evie and I made a journey up to Marble Arch for the preview of the SS14 collection from Morrison's very own clothing range, Nutmeg.

Now I love supermarket clothing for kids. Mine seem to grow at a rate of knots and are forever getting grubby and muddy so their day-to-day clothes need to be affordable and durable too. But just because I want sensible clothes, that doesn't mean I'm happy to buy boring stuff. I like bright colours and pretty prints and thoughtful details.

And that's just what Nutmeg's collection is all about. Thoughtful details.

Made from super soft fabrics, free from itchy labels and with chunky zips that kids can do them up themselves, the collection is made up of super cute t-shirts, pretty party dresses, snuggly rompers, comfy jeans and leggings, uber cool jumpers and cosy macs, perfect for chilly spring days and summer evenings. The best bit of all? Prices start at just £2 for t-shirts (both long and short sleeved) and are capped (for now) at £22 for one of the jackets.

It was a real treat to be able to meet head designer, Katy Percival, and to be talked through the collection by her personally. As a mum to two boys herself, she knows exactly what it is us parents are looking for when it comes to clothes and she has definitely come up trumps with her designs for Nutmeg.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces.

Shorts & stripey tights combo, £7

Baseball boots t-shirt (part of pack of 2), £5

Tie dye striped dress, £7 (totally wish this was available in my size!)

The SS14 collection is heading into stores at the end of this month and I would totally recommend you heading to your local Morrisons to check it out for yourselves. (I would also recommend taking your husband's/boyfriend's/the joint account debit card as you will want to buy EVERYTHING!)

Huge thanks to Morrisons for hosting the event - and for the delicious Hummingbird Bakery cupcake in my goody bag, which I may or may not have waited to eat until Evie was asleep on the train home so that I didn't have to share it. Ahem.xo
