Persil's Cook With Kids Promise Campaign

I'm a big fan of cooking with children. I think it's really important for them to know where their food comes from, and how it is made plus, of course, it's heaps of FUN!

Persil also believe that the kitchen should be a fun place for kids, and that they should be free to get creative and make a mess so, to celebrate the launch of their new, harder working washing up liquid they want 100,000 parents to make a promise to cook with their kids.
We were most definitely up for the challenge and this afternoon set about making a mess in the kitchen baking a red velvet cake using a recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook.

I let Daisy weigh out the ingredients, break the eggs and give everything a good mix before I took over and poured it into the cake tins ready for the oven. Then we got to lick the spoons, which EVERYONE knows is the best bit about cake baking!

Once it had baked and cooled, and I'd iced it, Daisy once again took over and decorated it.

After I'd cleaned up (using Persil's new and improved formula of course!) we got to sit down and eat it..... and it was GOOOOOOD!

Persil's improved formulation washing up liquid cleans 1,400 more plates than before, so you can rest assured that you've got the perfect washing up liquid to get those messy pots and pans sparkling clean again! And when you've been cooking with kids, there are a lot of messy pots!
Check out Persil's website for everything you need to help your kids have messy fun in the kitchen and, at the same time be in with a chance of winning a kid-friendly baking kit and kids party worth £500!
DISCLAIMER: We were sent a bottle of the new, improved Persil Washing Up liquid and were given a supermarket voucher to cover the costs of the ingredients for this recipe, in exchange for this post.
