A Sixties Inspired Capsule Wardrobe from Next

Those of you that know me in real life, or that follow me on Instagram, will know that I'm very fickle when it comes to fashion. One day you'll see me dressed in a vintage floral dress, wellies and waxed jacket, the next I'll be in jeans, heels, shirt and statement necklace. I could never categorise my style - I'd describe it as the 1940s meets the 1960s with a little bit of the 1970s thrown in for good measure - plus a hint of English Country Casuals of course ;)

It's important for everything I wear to be practical, affordable and comfortable - but that absolutely, categorically, does NOT mean I'm ready to embrace the mumsy frump look (hence the birth of the #NYNYStyleProject.... take a look here if you want to know what that's all about).

You might be surprised to hear I'm actually pretty sensible when it comes to clothes shopping. Unless it's vintage and I'm likely to never see it again (in which case I BUY, BUY, BUY in a panicked frenzy!) I don't buy anything on a whim. I'll try stuff on, think about what it will go with that I've already got, and only then will I make the decision about whether it'll make a good addition to my wardrobe. I only buy a few key pieces each season but am happy to invest in timeless styles that will last forever.

One of my favourite decades for style was definitely the sixties; I love the short hemlines, the smooth silhouettes and the bold prints. There's lots of sixties inspired clothes on offer this season and with that in mind, I've come up with a four piece, sixties themed capsule wardrobe for £100. Two full outfits made up of amazing individual items that you won't struggle to style with pieces you already own. Thanks so much to Next for working with me on this; it's been heaps of fun! Keep your eyes peeled for some new Daily Outfit posts to see how I've incorporated these new pieces into my current wardrobe xoxo
