This past week has been a real quiet one for us. I love getting out and about, and always try to make the most out of the weekends and holidays now that Daisy is at school, but every once in a while I think it's important to just batten down the hatches and spend some time at home.
And that's exactly what we did at the beginning of the week. Aside from school runs and quick visits to the local shops for essentials, we pretty much stayed at home. The highlight was, for me, the discovery of The Coconut Collaborative's Snowconut frozen yoghurt alternative. Oh my goodness, it is AMAZING! (and currently on offer at Sainsbury's). I'm not ashamed to tell you I ate the whole tub in one sitting. It was THAT GOOD.
It wasn't until Thursday that something exciting happened - and that something was World Book Day! Daisy had to dress up as a character whose name began with a letter from the word READING. If I tell you she chose 'E' can you guess who she went as? Of course Evie had to get in on the action too so she dressed up as a witch.
On Friday morning I went to a weights class at the gym which is an outing for Evie as much as for me. While I go to the gym, she visits the creche - and she LOVES it. It's also just up the road so we leave the buggy at home when we go, which is a real adventure for Evie (and the ten minute walk ends up taking us about half an hour!).
Saturday began with a shift at work which was quickly followed by a trip to London and a birthday party for my nephew! Visiting my sister is always so much fun; she has two boys which means her house has lots of awesome toys that are WAY more exciting than the ones the girls have at home! We all ate pizza and birthday cake and the children made us dress up as Ninja Turtles.
Today has been a day of cat fancy dress, work (for me) and having parents over for lunch -and I couldn't think of a better way to end the week!
This week I have been:
Listening to.... an old Of Monsters and Men album. Its such a good'un! Very rarely do I come across an entire album that I can listen to from start to finish without skipping any tracks, but My Head is an Animal definitely is one. 'Sloom' is my current fave song (again).
Reading.... new glossy mag Hello! Fashion Monthly. I LOVE a good fashion mag but I have to confess that the amount of freaking adverts in the big glossies drive me INSANE. Hello! Fashion Monthly is made up of perfect proportions of catwalk and high street fashions, celebrity style and beauty tips and tricks. I'm already looking forward to May's edition.
Wearing.... my new Urban Outfitters beetle dress! (Or is it a shirt? - I'm undecided but have been wearing it with tights and boots anyway, despite it being a bit short.) I also got a new pair of Moheda clogs this week; I chose to add a pair of Madrids in black with extra high heels to my ever growing collection and I CAN'T WAIT TO WEAR THEM!
