I was thinking earlier in the year that it would be nice to do the same at Easter...... three days of celebrating and spending time with family means three opportunities to invest in gorgeous new spring inspired outfits.
Although I love clothes - and I especially love buying new ones! - I am by no means rich enough to do it regularly. For this reason I like to choose timeless pieces that won't go out of fashion after just one season. I know what I like (bold colours and patterns, and pieces inspired by the forties, sixties and nineties), and what suits me (dresses and skirts with high waists, cropped skinny fitting trousers) and if I find something perfect that's a bit pricey, I don't mind spending my hard earned pennies on something that will last me a long time. This is why I love Boden so much! Their collections tick all the boxes for me and there are always brilliant offers and discount codes doing the rounds too.
Last week I teamed up with Boden to put together three looks that will see you through the long Easter weekend and on into SS15 and beyond too!
For Good Friday drinks I wanted something flirty and girlie. I chose this two piece outfit which will easily work as separates, both of which can be dressed up or down. I have already worn the shirt with skinny jeans and my Seven Boot Lane boots, and I plan to dress up the skirt with a black slash necked tee and black tights and boots next weekend too.
Pandora Skirt in viridian, £99 (currently on offer at £69.30 so
get in there quick!) // Evelyn Shirt, £39
(worn with Madrid Clogs from Moheda Toffeln)
I wanted something smart but comfortable for Easter Sunday. I love being dressed up but when you're cooking for your family you don't want to be restricted or for your outfit to get in the way!
Do you remember my obsession with the Boden Nancy dress last year? I loved the style so much I ended up buying it in all three colour ways. Well they have only gone and done it again this year - this time with the Beatrice dress. It is the perfect fit, the perfect length and has a slightly elasticised waist making it the comfiest frock EVER. Best thing is that it is available in four different BEAUTIFUL designs (and I plan to buy them ALL!)
Beatrice Dress in almond retro swirl, £89 (also currently on offer at £62.30!)
(worn with an old, old, old, H&M cardie, black tights and Strong boots from Kurt Geiger)
Possibly my favourite of the three is this Rose Bow dress which I thought would make a lovely dress for Bank Holiday Monday. What a way to channel those 60s vibes this Spring! When I chose it I had visions of wearing my hair in a big beehive and teaming it with the Lille lace-up point flats in orange (which Boden also very kindly sent me) but the weather hasn't been on my side just yet this Spring so they've remained safely in their box, waiting for the rain to stop. Instead I've worn it with black tights and ankle boots, and tan tights and brown knee highs, which is brilliant proof of its versatility. This is definitely a dress that will see you well into AW15 - and it also comes in the prettiest ladybird, peach and ivory colour way which I completely adore.
Rose Bow Dress, £99 (again, on offer at the moment at £74.25)
The Rose Bow design is also available in a skirt which is currently sat in my online shopping basket waiting to be bought. Does anyone else constantly have a full shopping basket with their favourite store?!! I have had the Eliza coat in navy sitting in mine for months and I just bought it yesterday after it went into the sale! £189 down to £56.70. Such a steal.....it had to be done!
Happy Easter everyone xoxo
