A great way to update a room without spending a fortune is to get a few new accessories - and that's exactly what I've done recently to give our front room a new lease of life.
I've always loved colour, and my favourites change with the seasons. In Autumn/Winter I'll go for burnt oranges and browns, or festive reds and greens, and then come Spring/Summer I'll opt for either soft pastels or bolder primary colours, depending on my mood. This goes for pretty much everything, from clothes to soft furnishings!
So two new scatter cushions found themselves winging their way to the cottage this week, courtesy of Sofa Sofa. I opted for the Fraser cushion in Renoir Apple and the Monaco cushion in Biscuit to liven up my favourite armchair. At just £30 and £15 respectively, they really are an affordable way to update the look and feel of a room. I also swapped the position of my sofa and armchair, and brought an old lamp into the room, two other entirely free ideas that have made a massive difference in the space and light.
I chose these cushions because of their timeless designs and colours; I actually think the Fraser cushion (on the left) would make a great Spring accessory with its different shades of fresh, pale greens, while the biscuit colour of the Monaco will look great with the mustard and orange cushions I have packed away for Autumn.
I also have to add that these are seriously comfy! They are extremely well filled and soft and velvety to touch. The armchair is definitely my favourite seat in the house right now xo
