The Oxford Dictionary defines expression as "the action of making known one's thoughts or feelings".
Of course we do this every day with facial expressions - we laugh, we smile, we frown.
But we also express our thoughts and feelings in other ways - by the music we listen to, the clothes we wear and by our actions generally.
I like to paint. When I'm feeling inspired and creative, or if I'm feeling a bit down. It makes me feel happy and alive.
My entry this week is a photograph of my latest piece of driftwood art. I love anything to do with the sea and painting driftwood is one of my hobbies. This piece quotes a line from one of my favourite songs, Blur's "To The End". The lyrics are:
"Well you and I, collapsed in love, well it looks like we might have made it, looks like we made it to the end."
I think that's beautiful.
I also take commissions for my driftwood artwork, and sell it on Folksy. Please drop me a line or click here if you are interested in purchasing a piece.
What a lovely take on a theme & a beautiful piece of artwork. (I'll be back to look for one for our new home!)

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of painting on driftwood. I'm always on the look out for driftwood but have never found any despite many walks on the beach :)
