Modern Mummy Loves....

This week I have been:

Saying HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY EVIE! (6 months today - we're having dippy eggs for breakfast to celebrate!) hanging LOTS of washing out on the line {this makes me RIDICULOUSLY happy} writing up my Juicing FAQ at long last filling the house with fresh spring flowers making plans with friends for when we go back to Twickenham next week ♥ trying lots of recipes from my new Yeo Valley Great British Farmhouse Cookbook ♥ planning a trip to the coast for the first time in months

And I've been looking out for great new brands and products too ~ here are my finds of the week:

This week my favourite online homewares boutique, Grace & Glory, unveiled their brand spanking new website! Grace & Glory is one of the most inspiring places to visit when you're renovating a period home, like we have been over the past nine months. It stocks a huge range of beautiful accessories, as well as top quality hardware and super stylish lighting. Here are a few items on my wish list at the moment...

Soft green check lambswool throw, £75 - Inspired by hills & moors, this luxurious throw is perfect for both summer picnics and winter nights!

Hanging storage basket, £19 - The ultimate space saver, these hanging baskets would look beautiful filled with fruit, vegetables and herbs!

Extending clothes drier, £125 - I am TOTALLY in love with this and it is RIGHT AT THE VERY TOP OF MY ULTIMATE HOME WISHLIST at the moment! I am going to make sure Himself treats me to one for our new bathroom (when we eventually get it!)

Forged monkey tail casement window fasteners, £18.50 - already purchased and in situ in the Modern Mummy household!

Make sure you check out the gorgeous new website here.

This week saw Daisy receive a set of Baggers Originals to review and for the first time ever we all wished for rain! Unfortunately it wasn't to be - but that didn't stop Daisy playing out in her new waterproofs - and let's face it, I'm fairly certain it won't be long before it's raining again. It is British Summertime after all!

Baggers Originals make fun, fashionable, practical and affordable rainwear for kids aged 1 to 8 - and have been doing so for 22 years! What makes their clothes different to others is that each piece of clothing has an attached pocket which turns into a handy bag for the clothes and means they can be easily carried and stored.

They were invented by a Mum, of course, and are designed to keep kids clean, warm and dry when playing outside. They come in a set of trousers and jacket which are elasticated at the waist, ankles, cuffs and bottom of the jacket, resulting in an entirely waterproof outfit. They retail from £27.99 to £29.99 (dependent on age) and are available from the Baggers website. Why not take a look at the whole range here.

So my littlest pink bear now has two teeth - and this means it's time to start up a dental routine to make sure they are kept clean and healthy!

Our friends at Brush-Baby very kindly sent Evie some DentalWipes and a chewable toothbrush to start her off in the right direction!

The DentalWipes are soft wipes gently formulated with xylitol and textured to clean delicate gums and teeny tiny first teeth. They come in either regular wipes or as finger sleeves, in banana or strawberry flavours and are fluoride and paraben free. They are suitable from 0-16 months and cost £3.99 for a box of 28.

The ChewableToothbrush is a perfect first toothbrush (meant from 10 months but I have been happy for Evie to use hers under supervision at 6 months) and is designed to fit little mouths correctly. The curved shape and rows of 'bristles' means that all areas of the mouth are easily accessible for cleaning! It also doubles up as the most fabulous teething toy - Evie has been chewing on hers constantly since we received it and it seems to be massaging and soothing her sore teething gums perfectly. It can be cooled in the fridge and sterilised too and retails at £4.99.

Products are all availale online from Amazon and are stocked by the leading high street retailers Boots, John Lewis, Mothercare and Kiddicare.

Lucky Evie was also sent a Joey Swag Sleeping Bag from Australian company Bubbaroo this week.

Bubbaroo make swaddling blankets and sleeping bags and the Joey Swag is available in four sizes (little baby - 0-6m, older baby - 6-18m, toddler - 18-36m and child - 3-6 years), six colours/patterns and four different togs.

We have always used sleeping bags for the girls as from a very young age both would wriggle around their cots and kick off their blankets, waking themselves up in the process. The Bubbaroo sleeping bags are in a league of their own though and are definitely getting the Modern Mummy seal of approval.

All other sleeping bags we've tried have had either single zip or popper openings but the Joey has a bottom opening zip too which makes it so much easier to change nappies at night! They are made from super soft natural fibres and comply with all relevant safety standards, plus they are washing machine and tumble drier safe too.

In the photo above, Evie wears the older baby Joey Swag in delicate pink which is available direct from the Bubbaroo website here for £34.95.
