Afternoon Tea - 1940s Style

Dotty Wrap Dress, £29.99, Bonprix
T-bar shoes (from 2012) Nine West
Sunglasses, Rayban Clubmasters

Last Saturday was my Hen Do. Turns out my friends are BLOODY AMAZING as they had planned the most brilliant surprise day for me! (Thanks Laura and Kathryn!)

It started with a very posh, 1940s inspired picnic in York House Gardens in Twickenham and the dress code stated that everyone had to wear a tea dress!

I wore this timeless and very elegant wrap dress from Bonprix. I don't know about you but I'm totally in love with it! It has a side zip fastening and a waist tie, is fully lined and has a rather revealing neckline to make up for it's modest knee skimming length! I teamed it with a pair of vintage style block heeled t-bars and my trusty Clubmasters for that war-time look.

My friends all scrubbed up pretty well too, don't you think?

After a lovely civilised afternoon, we then went on to have a cocktail making lesson in my favourite Twickenham drinking establishment, and the night ended with us all in 90s fancy dress (your good self clad head to toe in lycra and moustachioed to the max) dancing to 90s TUNES and laughing hysterically over the most revolting stripper any of us had ever seen (that part of the hen do will shortly be getting a blog post of it's very own!).

My polka dot tea dress was gifted to me by Bonprix - thank you so much! xoxox

  1. You look gorgeous. What a lovely idea too. Makes a change from the usual veils and L plates!! Love Liz xxx
