Hillarys Blinds: A Review

And so our quest to finish off the house continues!

It looks as though we may be able to crack on with the Big Works once again fairly soon (eeeeekk! new bathroom please!) but in the meantime I've been carrying on, picking out the finer details and the finishing touches. This week saw our kitchen get it's very own blind from the lovely company that is Hillarys.

For forty years, Hillarys have been manufacturing blinds in the UK. Their mission? To make sure every window in every home gets the focus and attention it deserves.

My parents have always bought their blinds from Hillarys so it's a brand I've grown up with and a company I know I can trust. When the opportunity arose to review one of their products, I knew I'd be in good hands.

With Hillarys you get two options: you can either choose their made to measure service and have an advisor visit your home and talk you through everything, or you can take your own measurements and order online. My parents have always gone for the former but I opted for the latter for ease and for speed (I made the husband take the measurements though, just in case).

I chose the dotty beige roller blind to compliment our simple country kitchen. The walls, the units, the work surfaces and the furniture are all neutral shades of cream, beige and wood and I wanted to continue that theme with the window dressing.

They say the window makes a room and I would be inclined to agree. Having a blind makes a huge difference to me; not only does it complete the room, it also makes it feel cosy and welcoming - and makes me feel safe in the evenings when it's dark outside and I'm tidying up the kitchen!

DISCLAIMER: We were sent a blind of our choice from Hillary's in exchange for this review.
