Morrisons Summer 2014 Preview

Yesterday Ruth from RocknRoller Baby and I headed up to the Icetank Studio for the Morrisons Summer 2014 press day.

It was an opportunity for Morrisons to showcase their gorgeous new picnic ware, their fabulous garden toys and their Nutmeg kidswear summer collection - and for us to taste the summer inspired culinary masterpieces of Neil Nugent! I may even have sampled a wee glass of wine.

Neil and his assistant Andrew cooked us up a selection of BBQ goodies in the M Kitchen! We got to sample a traditional Great British ploughman's, chilli haloumi burgers in focaccia, beef burgers made with bone marrow and served with BBQ sauce, sweet barbecue pork shoulder, pork, mozzarella and basil sausages (which were a massive hit with Evie), huge wild tiger prawns cooked in a simple tagine seasoning and salt beef with an asparagus salad. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, and in case we weren't full enough there were also cakes, sweets, ice creams and ice lollies to try afterwards.

Morrison's wine specialists were also on hand to talk us through their spectacular wine selection and I took the Three Question Taste Test to work out which grapes are particularly suited to my palette (sauv blanc is in there OF COURSE!).

I'm totally in love with the Nutmeg Summer range and have picked out these beauties for the girls! Cute character tees, hareem pants, dresses and playsuits; as always everything is beautifully designed and made, and at ridiculously affordable prices too.

Evie and I had a lovely morning (E *may* have trashed the garden toys corner.... sorry about that!) and we left with ginormous summery wish lists and full bellies. But it goes without saying that Evie still had room for a gingerbread man on the train home!

We were invited to the preview but were not paid to write this post.

  1. Our local Morrisons has just started doing clothing and I have been so impressed! The designs are surprisingly cool and it is so cheap! The long sleeved T's were just £2. Bargain! All the food looks amazing! x
