Speed Up Your Mornings - Back to School with Marks & Spencer

Can you believe we're half way through the summer holidays already? That means it's time to start thinking about the kids going back to school (booooo!) and, most importantly, time to start shopping for new school uniform before all the shops sell out!

This time last year I was busy buying Daisy's very first pieces of school uniform which was a pretty big deal for us both. My mum used to buy my school uniform from Marks & Spencer, and I have always found the quality of M&S womens and kidswear to be absolutely excellent, so it only seemed right for me to shop for my children's school clothes there too.

This Summer, M&S have launched a back-to-school campaign all about Speeding Up Your Mornings. Whether that means saving you time on ironing with their Easy To Iron shirts, or making it easier for your little ones to dress themselves with elasticated cuffs, good old Marks & Sparks want to make your life a little easier and I am so up for that! I was very kindly invited to pick out a few pieces from the new range for Daisy to wear in September. I chose a selection of basics, which I am confident will last the entire school year, including six non-iron long sleeve blouses, a storm proof skater skirt, two very pretty pinafores, a selection of tights and knee socks and a pair of perfectly shiny, scuff resistant patent t-bar school shoes.

Other innovations that form part of the range include:

Adjust-to-Fit – hems with an extra 3 inches of material that can be let down as your child grows, and elasticated cuffs and waists that also grow with your child.
Stainaway – shirts with a clever finish that means that means that stains wash away more easily
Permanent Pleats – pleats that stay, even after washing – no need to iron them in!
Triple-Action Stormwear - a water and stain repellent finish found on selected trousers, skirts, shorts, blazers and coats

The best bit about this new collection has to be the price. Our entire order (including the shoes!) came to less than £100, which I think is absolutely brilliant for clothes of such quality. During the course of the last year I bought a few bits and pieces from supermarkets and they just didn't compare to the M&S items we'd got at the outset.

Daisy is very excited about going back to school and starting in year one - especially now she has her lovely new uniform to wear. The skater skirt is a particular favourite.... it's a 'spinner', i.e. it spins round brilliantly when she twirls (very important when you're 5), and she also loves the star details on the shoes. I love the shirts the best - they genuinely do not require any ironing, and they are a longer length than standard so they are easier to tuck into skirts (and stay tucked in too!).

I can't believe my baby is almost six and about to start her second year at school! xoxo
